Mission Statement
|
|
The Government is committed to alleviate the miseries
of the common man and to improve the economic conditions.
Paragraph (d) of Article 38 of the Constitution of Islamic
Republic of Pakistan requires the state to provide necessities
of life including housing to its citizens.
CONSCIOUS of its responsibilities to its citizens the Government
of Pakistan is determined to provide shelter to the shelterless
and particularly to low income groups, the poor and the needy

Major Activities
|
|
Pursuance to Cabinet & National Security Conical Decision, presently Pakistan Housing Authority has under taken 18 projects involving 4,476 housing units in 4 major urban centers of the country at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar & Islamabad at the estimated cost of Rs. 5.00 billions.
PHA is also undertaking housing schemes for the officers of Federally Constituted Occupational Groups and for low paid Federal Govenment Employees on ownership basis.

| FUNCTIONS |
| The functions of the Authority shall be:- -
Preparation and promotion plans for developing housing projects for the needy in Pakistan
-
Preparation of guidelines for the implementation of the housing Programme
- Coordination with concerning Federal and Provincial agencies for implanting the Programme
- Negotiations of financial resources from national as well as international financing or aid giving agencies, institutions or organizations and administering the same for the implementation of the Programme
- Taking necessary steps obtaining land for the execution of the Programme
- Assisting in obtaining housing loan facilities through financial institutions keeping in view the financial position or income levels of the applicants
- Selection of professionals, consultants and engineers for the implementation of the Programme
- To select private developers, site consultants and conduction of surveys on land earmarked for implementing the Programme
- To supervise advertising campaign, preparation of brochures, pre-qualifications and awards of works to specific site consultant
and
- Performance of such other functions as may be assigned from time to time

| FUNCTIONAL SETUP |
| Pakistan Housing Authority has its Head Office at Islamabad
with the Managing Director as its Chief Executive and Principle
Accounting Officer. In Head Office, there are five Wings/Sections
namely Construction & Project Management, Architecture
& Planning, Finance & Administration, Land Management,
Marketing & Allottees Services. There are three Regional Allottees
Services Office in Karachi & Lahore. In Head Office each

| INTRODUCTION |
| Under the Cabinet resolution dated May 18, 1999, this
Authority was established to provide shelter to low income
groups, the poor and the needy.
On November 26, 1999, the Chief Executive of Pakistan
ordered a complete review of the scheme and consequently,
on March 9, 2000, the Cabinet & National Security Council
accorded approval for completion of 18 commercially viable
and marketable projects.
